1839-1908 Liberty Half Eagle

The Liberty Head Half Eagle, a $5 gold coin, was issued from 1839 to 1908, featuring the Coronet Liberty design by Christian Gobrecht. Mint marks were initially on the obverse (1839) and then moved to the reverse in 1840.
